Rollerblade Inventor Continues Crusade for the Fit Life
Minneapolis—Sept. 11, 2007

He stays in shape climbing 40-feet ropes, skiing up hills and hauling 40-pound buckets of corn to feed his endangered trumpeter swans. After tinkering on his rural Minnesota farm for the past ten years, Scott Olson, the inventor of Rollerblades, is back with a new product, a new idea and a workout regimen that has him in the best shape of his life.

The marriage of a rowing machine and bicycle is Olson's latest idea. "Physiologists report that rowing is one of the top three best workouts," states Olson. "The Rowbike is a great way to combine the strength training benefits of rowing with the low-impact freedom of biking. Rowbike users, or "Rowlers," love the freedom of a total-body workout on wheels—it makes it more exciting than sitting on a strengthening machine in a workout facility."

In the past ten years since introducing the Rowbike to the market, the number of rowlers in both the United States and around the world has increased dramatically. Word-of-mouth feedback has inspired many to finally get in shape with the Rowbike.

"Staying in shape and finding a way to incorporate fitness into everyday life has always been important to me," says Olson. "The Rowbike allows the user to get the benefits of a great cardiovascular and upper-body workout while experiencing the rush of flying down the road with the wind in their hair."

This fall, Olson will launch new designs of the Rowbike. A new model will be targeted primarily for water rowers.
